So Sensitive?

Stained-glass windows are particularly sensitive to shocks in the center of its plane, so they are transported in an upright position. For this purpose, on a vehicle body should be fixed a rigid metal frame. Due to the triangular shape, it is often called a "pyramid". The frame is made of pipes to increase its strength.

Stained glass transferThe presence of the pyramid allows to achieve several important points:

First of all, stained glass can be given a stable position close to the vertical. The pressure automatically shifts to the end portion where the glass has the maximum strength.

Then, it is not only protection of the glass from breaking and cracking, but also from scratches and surface damage.

This pyramid provides a rigid fixation of stained glass, which completely eliminates the slightest displacement, even if the transport is carried out for a long distance.

Also, it is possible to deliver a non-standard sizes of the stained glass.

Next, the ability to transport several stained glass products. Also it allows to transport other components of the stained glass design.

How to do it

Now, we will tell you general terms of stained glass transfer.

Before the loading you should wrap it in some packing materials (cardboard, wrapping paper, stretch wrap and so on). For transportation over long distances can be used wooden boxes.

To minimize the mechanical stress under the stained-glass windows set-sealing pad (or at least a plastic foam). During transporting the glass you can use a cardboard corners on the edges, and if you use a long cardboard the entire length of the stained-glass window bottom, it is better.

If you transport several stained glass, there should be laid a plate of a soft material such as cork between them.

Sheets of glass or stained glass should be rigidly fixed with slings and straps of clamping beams. The product must not move during a transfer. The size, shape and number of beams depend upon the size of windows and the design features of the pyramid.

Before stained glass transfers you must check the stability and maximum loading capacity of the vehicle. The driver must comply with speed limits (in the city - up to 40 km / h, and on highways - no more than 80 km / h). During transporting a long distances on the stops, they should verified reliability of fixing stained glass.

Loading and unloading of stained glass

Loading and unloading of large stained glass requires a special manipulator. To automate the loading and unloading operations can also be used a vacuum frame. If workers do it by hand, they must take a special care for this.

Also note that the delivery of stained glass is not limited to transportation. I mean that delivery is an achieving to the final destination, that is the desired floor and the room where you will install the product. This aim can bring a lot of problems for people who do it first time, especially in areas with narrow passages and corridors.
